Adv. Canon C5035 - universal send

Wehave a customer that bought an Advanced Series Canon IRC5035 from some othercompany and the Universal Send is grayed out. What do they need toturn it on? Does it come standard on that copier?

    Thanks

Send option is Standard on all models (with COLOUR IMAGE READER-F1 or DUPLEX COLOUR IMAGE READER-E1 or COLOUR IMAGE READER-F2.)

I'm not shore why is grayed out but check adjustments.

Service Mode level2 > COPIER > OPTION > DSPLY-SW>UI-SEND (To set whether to display or hide the SEND function.)

    1) Enter the setting value, and then press OK key.
    2) Turn OFF/ON the main power switch.

    0 to 1
    0: Hide, 1: Display

    Default value 1

Check again in system management mode!

        press Settings/Registration > Function Settings > Send

condition may be related to the use of Department ID management being enabled. This may be confirmed by performing the following steps:

        1) Confirm that Department ID is turned OFF.
        2) Reboot the copier device.

        or
Select >Function Settings-Send-Common Settings-Change Default Settings-Register-Yes. Now all the settings that were required by the end user should be registered as default.

        Point to note

All the imageRUNNER Advance models come standard with the Basic Canon Color Universal Send Kits. Although the machine will allow you to disable the Kit and generate a transfer code, please do not disable.

If you disable the Basic Canon Color Universal Send Kit on the imageRUNNER Advance, you would need to contact the Canon Technical Support Center at 1-800-528-2830 to create a case number and have the ticket escalated to Engineering. The process to receive another activation code to re-activate the SEND Kit could take about 2 weeks or longer.

BEFORE DISABLING ANY LMS KIT, REFER TO THE MACHINE'S DOCUMENTATION TO VERIFY WHETHER THE KIT IS STANDARD OR AN OPTION ON THAT MODEL. PLEASE AVOID DISABLING ANY LMS KIT THAT COMES STANDARD WITH THE MACHINE.

Went to get into Department ID Management and asked the customer what the ID and password was and they told me that they did not put it on the machine. No one in the office set it up, so I figured that the company that sold them the machine (brand new machine) did it. Had to go into service mode and clear the password. When I started it back up I was able to get into all functions and set up the email functions and set everything up.

          Thanks for you help.

Before clearing, try the default administrator password and pin which are the same: 7654321.
