    Pull Scanning(Network ScanGear) is not supported with the imageRUNNER 2016 / 2016i / 2020 / 2020i models.

    Push scanning via Universal Send is available on the imageRUNNER 2016i / 2020i models
    & (not on the imageRUNNER 2016 / 2020 models).

      Presuming Windows OS / push scanning;

      You need the following information;

      netbios name of the computer, can be found in My Computer / manage computer

      Shared Folder - for best practice see - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...7104.aspx#EDAA

      I would advice setting everyone full control on the share permission, then specifying a group / user account to have at least write permissions

      You will need a user account and password to access the share, the password is case sensitive

      Once you have this information, verify that the computer can print to the photocopier to ensure you are on the correct IP subnet / have connectivity....

      Check your firewalls, these can cause a lot of issues as well for file sharing, check out http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l...EXCHG.80).aspx

      From there you have a few options, adding it to an address book would be my advice.

      You would need to log into the user control panel, default username / password 7654321, biggest Canon secret

      Not having a copier in front of me and beer in hand, go to address book, add an entry, you can browse the network, to a computer, then folder, as long as the previously stated user credentials are correct.

      You can specify the computer name and folder name in a UNC as well, just remember the credentials

      I will update this with some more specifics tomorrow morning, I come from an IT background, working / learning on copiers.

      Hope this helps

          I never ever use IP address in the host field, servers should be on a static IP address, but clients typically use DHCP for IP allocation;

          If the host changes its IP your config will stop working and guess what - you will be in a car on the way to your client, use the computer name everytime.
