Canon iRA 2030 document feeder stream feeding

They have been making these things for years so how come they still can't get it right.

Has anybody worked out a way of stopping the DADF feeding 3 sheets at once?, I've fitted the modified separation pad, made no difference.

TP10 148 came out to remedy this issue almost 3 years ago now. Have you checked the clutch and torsion spring to see if they are operating properly?

Thanks for the reply, is TP10 148 a Canon USA technical advice? the UK technical advice system, SIM's has no mention of the clutch or torsion spring, just a modified pad, so how do you resolve the fault? or more to the point, do you need to fit modified spring's and clutch?

        TP10 148.pdf

here you go. It is for the U1 DADF which is the same crappy DADF that you are working on with different color panels

Many thanks for the info, here they call the it the DADF AC1, at least thats whats on the badge on the back, you can't find it listed on the Canon site. They added it as part of the "colour reader unit-D1", they are like the Easter Bunnie, always hiding things. Checking with TP10 148, the DADF AC1 has been modified but it gives me a few more ideas on what is up with the crappy thing. Again, your help is much appreciated.
