Hi to all canon gurus out there. I am trying to flash iR 6570 to get rid of the error code e602-1000. The original hdd is a Hitachi travel star: Model HTS 541020G9AT00; 20GB, 5400RPM. This part is hard to get locally here. I have checked it in the 'firmware-HD Format file, it seems not to have a 'hdd descriptor file'....(meaning no equivalent). I decided to try a FUJITSU hard disk model: MHT 2040AH; 40GB; 5400PM. From the info i gathered from the internet, the two have very close specifications..almost similar, save for the GB.
- I am using crossover Ethernet cable, set my laptop ip address to 172.16.1.101, sub net mask 255.255.0.0, the copier has fixed ip address of 172.16.1.100, so I'm in same range of ip address, of class B network. Using SST version 4.63, and firmware version 42.01.
Problem: When I try HDD Formatting, I get an error code E240 on the SST screen shot, saying 'process has ended in error; File name:HDD Format ALL: Module: Send File(). While the copier screen displays : 'Formatting HDD (ALL) Error.'
_I switched to the older SST version 3.35, still I get the formatting error E190.
Question: 1)- Is my choice of of equivalent Fujitsu HDD (above) as a replacement drive ok, or the original drives are encrypted and must be exact replacement?
2)- what does the error code E240, E190 represent?
3)- What am I not doing right? What's the way forward?
Thanks in advance for your timely response.
