The software used to flash this model is called the User Support Tool.

The Service Support Tool is not used in flashing this model imageRUNNER.

firmware will include the User Support Tool.

How to get into download mode when service mode is unavailable 1) Power on the laptop and connect to the machine via a USB cable. 2) Hold down the #2 key and turn on the machine. 3) Keep holding the #2 key down until the "USB DOWNLOAD AVAILABLE" message is displayed. Note: The machine will cycle, the progress bar screen will come on and go off. Keep holding the #2 key until the download message is on the screen. 4) Now you can start downloading the SSW.

I'm Massimo, a new user from Italy, I've just read your post and it applies to my problem. I own an ir-1022A bricked with a "STANDBY DOWNLOAD" message on the display, I suppose that I need to re-flash the firmware using the CANON USER SERVICE TOOL but I can't find it anywhere. Could you please tell me where can I donwload it? thanks

B & W iR1022A is a Euro model/
u can't use Color iRC1022 Firmware in it.

don't know what USA firmware will work in it ?


CANON USER SERVICE TOOL /is part of the Printers Firmware for models that use/need UST to flash it's firmware.

one is a COLOR Product =iRC1022

other is iR1022 Black & White

IR C1022 is not European model.
