Cyan dropping out on thick paper

This is a CLC5151 series (with Modified Drum Units).

On plain paper PG-10 is fine and print outs are fine.
On thick paper PG-10 starts loosing cyan and also is visible on print outs.

First half of an A4 paper is fine and the other half is missing cyan.

I tricked the printer and put thick paper on the bypass but marked it as plain paper. The result is fine. No cyan dropping.

Of course there is nothing wrong with ITB unit itself, but how come this drop on thick paper ?

Is there lack of developer concentration on the second rotation of the cyan drum ? Or voltage issues...

But than - why on plain paper is fine ?

    Any ideas ?

Of course putting back a OEM drum solves the issue , but this is not the answer that we are after...

    I am attaching a PG-10 on thick paper.PG-10.jpg

Re: Cyan dropping out on thick paper

i remember having this a couple of years ago and if memory serves me right it was the drum drive unit. I will try and locate the tech pub on it, but it did solve my problem of the colors dropping out on heavy paper
Accidents don't just happen. They must be carelessly planned.

I stopped selecting Heavy Media years ago/
advised customers never select Heavy Media

Changing Drum drive Assy is no walk in the park

While printing or copying with Heavy Media selected the Y/M/C or BK portion of the document would intermittently drop out.
      EXAMPLE--------MAGENTA DROP ON Heavy S

      Drum drive Assy
When replacing the Drum Drive Assembly ensure the wire harnesses are correctly routed and all screws are used to mount the assembly.

Sounds like you needto adjust the transfer charges to compensate for using poor quality piratedrums.

I like this option too, but on some glossy paper fusing is crappy
