irc 2550 w insert waste container message

I removed the container to do a general cleaning. Went back to replace the black drum and now I can't get rid of the message. Took the sensor out and cleaned with q tip and also replaced container with a new one nice and clean. Still can't get rid of the message. Could the sensor have failed. Fm2-3470. Is this common. Help appreciated thanks
