clc 4040 and imagepress h1 problem

    Hi to all.

A friend has asked me to help him solve problem with clc4040 and imagepress h1.

It was all functioning ok until last week when power supply for H1 died. At firs he thought it was hdd that was defective so he had hdd replaced. Apparently they have replaced version of firmware for H1 to older one. After replacement he could not print at all. Test print form windows driver would print but that is only one. Anything else would go thru sending print job to H1, it would get processed and than nothing. On CLC4040 green led would blink but then it would just stop.

Couple days later power supply finally died and he had to replace it. After that he tried old HDD but still could not get unit to print.

It seems that CD's with original firmware are lost.

Any ideas on what to try or what to troubleshoot? I have printed job log from H1 and all print jobs are listed but it shows that they were not printed.

Already checked that. they are all down. Unit can only print with pcl5 drivers, before it could print with ps drivers.

Any idea on what to do now?

I will check for restrictions tomorow.

As for config page, yes I can print that. Even windows test page gets printed. Print jobs that are sent to fiery using pcl5 driver get printed out but pcl6 and ps driver can not print.

I will post more tomorow when I get to location.

            or go here>>http://w3.efi.com/Fiery/Fiery-Support/download

when u see that config page/ post the ver. of H1 Firmware listed on it
if it's v2.0 > the printer needs it's firmware at v78.17 or newer
v1.2>the printer needs it's firmware at v66.05 or newer

Re: clc 4040 and imagepress h1 problem

              Hi

              Fiery fw. version 1.1
              clc4040 fw version 76.01

Since i dont have access to fw for clc4040 I'm waiting to get replay from other technician for newer firmware. As for fiery, well i have cd 1 downloaded from rusian site link, no cd2. There was post here on forum about images fro version 2 but links have expired.

Drivers are latest. Problem is that this all worked as it should prior to power supply failure. Replacement of disk should have no impact on printing ability. Right now in fiery is old disk so system is as it was before power supply failure.

              @teckat

              Thx for all help
