    Canon IR ADVANCED 6075

I have a client that returned a fuser to us and said it was defective with a E812-000 error. My service manual lists E811 and skips right over E812. I Googled the error and got "Home Position of ITD unit not detected" which if correct would mean a transfer belt or hp sensor issue, not necessarily a fuser issue. I have never seen a fuser returned with this error. My questions, to those with experience with this machine, are:

    1. Is the Googled information correct about the E812-000 error code being related to transfer belt home position issues? and if so,
    2. Has anyone else heard of a fuser causing this error? (Personally, I believe this is unlikely, but stranger things have happened.)

Thanks in advance for any assistance you can provide.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Coke in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO-HOO, what a ride!".

Client or Tech pulled this fuser and noted the code

u actually saw this e812-000 error code in service log ??

I never seen that code/on any imageRunner product-

If you get to the machine and see the 812 error for yourself press the green info button in the bottom middle of the screen.

812 is not in my manual either.

        tHERE IS NO E812
A common fuser code on these is E 840, ---- broken bushings, clips, shutter sensor , or shutter motor

Exactly! That's all I've ever seen and we've been doing this for quite a while. The machine is in another state. It just sounded invented to me, but I will be the first to say that I dont know everything there is to know about machines, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks for the input.

We are a vendor of printer, fax, and copier parts. Our client is a technician from a service company, who purchased one of our refurbished Canon fusers. This was the error code they put for reason for return. It didnt make sense to me so I posted the question to you guys.

It turns out to be human error. The person who did the RMA forgot the code for shutter motor error and decided to make one up.

A real "technician" can easily refurbish this printer by himself. Cheaper en just as much work, than shipping a big lump of fuser assy. Whats next, replacing the AP kit?
