[CQ] canon i sensys fax L170

hai forum friends, kindly assist with a problem on my canon canon i sensys fax L170, when i make a copy the copy comes out black, when i command print reports from the machine they come out clear and readable, i have checked the scanner, kindly advise what else i need to check.
