    Hi all,

got a problem when trying to print on and IRC3380I via network, when i print you here the machines laser start up but it then just as quickly stops and doesnt print anything, if i go to the system monitor abd check the print log i get an error code of #853.

the manual has nothing on this code, it seems to stop on #852,

PCL/POSTSCRIPT are an addon kit. They only come with ultra fast rendering aka UFRII driver. Change that and you'll be good to go.

        #853

        Cause
        -Using the wrong printer driver.
-The machine does not have the proper printer kit installed (e.g. UFR, PCL, PS kit(s)).
-The print job did not print because due to lack of resources on the printer (e.g. memory, HD space, etc).
-Print spooler on the machine is full.
-The number of secure print jobs have exceeded the maximum limit that can be reserved at this time.

Thanks for the ideas, but i still cant get it to work,

I am using UFRII drivers, V2.70, I'm going to try install v2.90 and see if that helps.

I have also upgraded firmware to, version 94.01 (it was the only version i had onsite) after i had done a MMI clear and CARD clear.

I have a feeling it could be the main controller, my next step is to replace the LANBAR PCB (network card) and if still have no change will try the Main Controller.

Thanks again, will let you know how things turn out.

First Off i have to apologies for wasting your guys time,

I feel like such a tool,

So it turns out this machine is not actually an (i) model but rather just a standard IRC3380. It wont print because the PCL\UFRII print kit Q1 is not installed on the machine. This machine is about 500km's away and I was going on the words of my tech in that region.

When I checked the device configuration neither the PCL nor UFRII were listed which tells me that it isn't a printer.

(they will have to re-register the printer kit or supply a new one)

again.....so sorry for the miss information and time wasting........

            thanks....

                  UFR II is used
Each model includes Canon’s UFR II (Ultra Fast Rendering)
                  print controller standard.

                  Function =Color imageRUNNER C3480/C3080 SERIES

                  Optional:* **
**** Choose one of two print controller options: PCL Printer Kit-Q3 or imagePASS-J1
** PS Printer Kit-Q3 option requires the PCL Printer Kit-Q3; also requires 512MB RAM.
                  *** Requires 512MB RAM.

                  PCL Print Function
(required for the Color imageRUNNER C3380/ C2880 only)
To use the PCL printer function, the Color PCL Printer Kit must be
                  available for use.

                  PS Print Function

                    Hi guys,

I have had a look at an IRC2380I and compared it to the IRC3380 NON i MODEL that i'm having issues with. If i look at the device configuration under the meter reading, it gives me all the info of the machine, which includes: product name, main board version, controller version and so on and on the second page it displays all the OPTIONS installed, including : finisher, dadf, fax board, colour send kit, PCL,and UFRII.

On the IRC3380 under OPTION there isnt anything for UFRII or PCL, and when i looked up our sales records I found that the machine (IRC3380), when supplied, was supplied with a Color UFR II/PCL Printer Kit-Q1. So PCL and UFRII must have stopped working at some point since it isnt displayed,

what confuses me now is that, it should print as a standard?

                    thanks......

                        two settings to look at

                        1-Additional Functions>System Settings>Restrict Printer Jobs

Make sure This setting is set to "OFF"

                        2-Copier > Option > Int-Face > IMG-CONT ?

set to "0" is for Canon controllers,
"3" is used for a Connected Fiery on a Color Product

what is your's // power on/off if u make any needed changes

where did u get the UFR II driver from ??

                        ***
UFRII printing is not available if the optional imagePASS J1 is installed

That's what I figured. We've installed a boatload of these over the last couple years and never even sold one pcl/ps kit with them. UFR is good enough for most usage nowadays. It's only poorly coded applications that seem to require ps/pcl anymore
