You won't be getting in service mode. This is a hard disk failure. Turn off the machine hold down the 1 & 9 while turning it back on.
This will run a scan of the hdd the screen will fill with little blocks when done turn it off and back on.
If this does not work you need to replace the hard drive and firmware.

Canon doesn't give out firmware to cheap assholes like yourself.

I am also trying to get into the service mode. If some one knows please advice. My story is below.

Basically I have checked out a 2550i which is for sale. The owner has not used it for some time and wants to get rid of it. The issue is it has the above error codes. The agents are not helpful and they want me to bring the machine for inspection and the seller does not want to go through the process. Basically I want to offer him a price for as is condition. before that I want to know if this can be fixed and what would be the maximum i would have to spend to get this to working order.

If any one has the service manual or know how to reset or fix the issue it will be a great help.

I just dont want to invest blindly.

Thank you for your help in advance.

                Regards
                John

well for those machines almost every time the E602 is a dead HD so you will have to change it first of all, just to make sure start the machine holding 1+9 and see if it fills with the display with the white blanks if not look for a parts dealer and get a new HD then get the right firmware into it, you will need SST for that
