    IIC 3220 Won't ping

I have a IRC 3220 with the print box mounted on the back. It has universal send. I have all the settings correct in the set up and i get a green light on the network connection. I try to ping in or out and I get no response. I have elimitated router and everything and have tried it straight from my laptop. I'm used to Ricoh's and would clear NIC memory if I had this problem with one of them. Is there a way to reset the NIC?

im confused!!! u say its an IRC3220 but u have a print box? does that not mean its a CLC 3220. is the print box(controller) a C1 or a C2? where are u pinging the controller or the copier?

If it is a rip u are pinging.....can u get into the rip settings ie. the function of the rip. if u cant then the rip aint booting up.

give me the answers to my questions and we can go further

      IRC3220b

It's an Image Runner C3220. It's an older one with the print option in a box on the back. I dont know c1 or c2 or whatever. all the send and print stuff show up in setup. There is a scsi looking cable and a network cable that go between the box and the copier.

        hi there,

can u get a config page out of the rip, if so what ip address does it stipulate? is it set to auto ip or static?

if its auto ip then u cant ping it straight from your laptop as it needs an address to be assigned by AD(active directory). if it is static try pinging the exact ip address. try it using a laptop with a crossover cable to eliminate their network. make sure your laptop is on the smae network and subnet.

forgive me if im teaching u to suck eggs but i have no idea the capacity of your knowledge on troubleshooting network issues.

let me know how u get on

If u can print out configeration page from the fiery, the connection between copier and box should be ok. Just ping correct IP from ur laptop, Don't forget check ur gateway address.

do this for kicks... print out a config page is it dhcp or static? make the address static. then hook up a crossover to the fiery and your laptop. making sure the proper ip and subnet are entered. sounds like you have done this before. open internet explorer type the ip address of copier the address bar and click go. the remote user interface screen should come up on your laptop. from there you can change settings etc. its easier.
