Hi there I wanted to know if anyone has the firmwear I have searched and canon web site doesn't have it posted it up. Just wanted to know if any of you techs might have the a back up CD by any chance or the files for it. We moved out of the old office and lost the CD's durning the move only thing canon has on there web site are the Divers and Utilities. Any help will do so I can talk to the IT Techs at work before we decide to replace the copier because this model only works with the Imagepass S2 Server / Controller that's what the Konica Tech told us. We tried to go to the service mode on the canon 7105 to see if we can change the setting to disable the the imagepass S2 Server / Controller so we can connect local to our printer server. But we can't access any settings in service mode.

try this-------------------
To perform a Hard Drive Defrag, hold down the keys 1 and 9 on the key pad of the Control Panel and turn on the Main Power switch.
A small white flashing square will appear in the upper left corner of the Control Panel LCD display then drop down to the bottom of the LCD. Another white square will appear at the top and then drop down. Gradually, the white squares will form rows and convert the LCD display to white.
When the Hard Drive Defrag is complete the LCD display will go dark and the message Download Mode will appear. At this time cycle the Main Power switch off and back on.
then
remove S2>
go in service mode = (*)key > '2' and '8' key at the same time >then (* )key/
then to>
COPIER > OPTION > INT-FACE>IMG-CONT / set this to "0"/power off>on
0: PS print server unit not connected (default);
3: PS print server unit connected
u can then purchase a Multi-PDL Kit H1**Knowledge is time consuming, exhausting and costly for a trained Tech.**Comment

Re: Imagepass S2 Server Hard Drive Crash
Thank you for the reply it's been super busy at work. I wanteed to tell you what happened. We had a big print job going to the canon 7105 then an error code I don't have that with me but that error code locked up the copier. And the IT Tech at work used firey to clear out the print job and rebooted the imagepass S2 server / controller. But nothing helped I called the tech and he was on a service call. I looked up the error code and called the tech back he did remember the code after tellling him the hard drive crashed. He did manage to stop by later that day. The Konica Tech did everything except the last part in the service mode which I"ll bring up tomorrow to him. Also the
imagepass S2 server / Controller is frozen and it just say's waiting nothing eles happends and none of the bottons respond when pusing them. Right now we got the canon 7105 back up and working but only for making copies.
Q: er, get rid of rip, make sure youve got 'n' boot rom and youre good to go, btw why are you taking advice of the konica guy?
A: We had this company go from 3 different companies Kodak, Danka & Now Konica and we have a service contract. That's why, I know we need a canon service tech company that deals with this but we are waiting for the contract to end.
I think but not sure if we are trying to re image that hard drive that was in the imagepass 2 server / controller. Will found out more tomorrow it sounds really good talking to some one that has been on the field working on canon issues before but I will let the Konica tech go through the setp that you provided.
Also what is the Multi-PDL Kit H1 and what does it do? I'll try to research it more it's just been so busy at work dealing with or print / copy production at work.
Thank you for all the info you provided me sounds dead on what I've been trying to find also what about the firmwear do you anything about that? Is there any way of getting that?Comment

Multi-PDL Printer Kit
The Multi-PDL Printer Kit supports PCL and PS (PostScript) emulation printing solutions, and incorporates Canon's original UFR II (Ultra Fast Rendering II) Technology.
It also enables you to print TIFF, JPEG, PDF, and PS files directly from your PC using the Remote UI.
imagePASS
imagePASS is a freestanding printer controller that supports Adobe Genuine PostScript 3 and PCL6. It is mainly suited for office environments in which larger print volumes are frequently processed, or for users who use Adobe PostScript 3 or other PostScript applications.
