    [Error Code] e 542 8004

I have a finc1 on a ir 5051 advance. I keep getting an e 542 error code, yet neither tray even moves upon start up.
I have swithced tray motors, and sensor pcb, to try and isolate, and the same sub code appears no matter what. Even tried a controller. Seems as though the swing assembly cams 3 times, then error. Wondering if anyone else has seen this? Thanks in advance!

There is a micro switch actuator located under the top tray and is a safety switch for the finisher called MS103.
It is a normally closed switch. It has a black actuator that creates the closed condition.
If the switch is to open, then 24VDC will not flow through the switch creating a break in 24VDC required for safety switches and the finisher controller PCB.
In some cases, the actuator got caught on the wrong side of the switch creating an open condition. Check the images below for reference.

    1. This is the underside of the tray and the red arrow points to the underside of the actuator.

    2. Remove the upper tray's top cover to access MS103.

    3. MS103 and MS103's actuator can now be accessed.

    4. Close up of MS103 and MS103's actuator, notice the position of the actuator.

Did u try performing the Swing guide height/pressure adjustment shown on page 4 and 5 of TP08 230d.pdf.

TP08 230d= see pdf -Imporperly stapled sets (skewed sheets) when stapling.pdf
