Have you tried powering on while holding down 1 and 9? I've had that work a couple times. If not, you're up the creek.

Hi, acttually all MF XXXX have firmware just not in the copier way by SST, in case of MF series firmware comes as a executable aplication and you do it by usb installation just make sure you install the normal drivers before.
for MF 6550 series the latest firmware is FY9-4268-040 only 23MB.
