    Re: IR2520 Scure Print Settings

Secure print is not shown in the system monitor. Is there a way to enable or disable the system monitor display?

Under ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS>SYSTEM SETTING>SYSTEM MONITOR SCREEN RESTRICTION >ALLOW SECURE PRINT FROM PRINT STATUS SCREEN> ON or OFF, depending on enable or disable screen from showing.

    Secured Print
saves a job in the iR under a certain password and outputs it later only when the correct password is entered and verified.
This feature is useful when printing a highly confidential document. It gives you the ability to have only authorized personnel accessing sensitive documents.
How to Print Using Secured Print (ex. Windows via PCL5e):
1.From the print driver, select Secured Print from the drop-down list box at the upper right in either the Page Setup, Finishing, Paper Source or Quality tab.

2.Click the OK button in the message box shown below to switch to the Secured Print mode.

3.Click the Secured Print Settings icon button to open the Secured Print Settings dialog box, and then specify the user name and password for the current print job.

4.After entering the unique User Name and Password, click the OK button in the Secured Print Settings dialog box.
5.Click the OK button to close the Properties dialog box, and then click the OK button in the Print dialog box.The Confirm Password dialog box is displayed.

6.Confirm the Document Name, User Name, and Password, and then click the OK button in the Confirm Password dialog box.The Print job is saved in the printer under the specified user name and password.
7.On the printer control panel (LCD) or using Remote UI, select the print job you want to print and enter the password. The job can be located by pressing the System Monitor button found at the bottom right of the LCD and then selecting the Print button. Under Status, a list of pending print jobs will appear. Highlight the print job, select Secured Print, enter in the correct password, and the job will print out.
NOTE: On newer imageRUNNER models the functionality has changed slightly. There is a new button on the LCD called 'Print Jobs' where secure prints can be release.

We recommend that the printer driver be installed through a network.
To use the Secure Printing function, connect the machine and computer via a network.
If you cannot select [Secured Print] for [Output Method], display the [Device Settings] sheet and select the

          Secure Printing Problems

          ?
Cause =The job is discarded because the machine has run out of available memory.
Remedy 1 =Cancel other jobs, or wait until those jobs are finished, and then send the job again.
Remedy 2 =Divide the document into two or more parts, or reduce the resolution, and then try again.

The message <Memory near full. Process jobs (Secure Print, etc.)> appears on the
          touch panel display.

Cause Remedy 1 =Print out the secured document by entering the appropriate password. If there are any other jobs,
          wait until they are finished.

Remedy 2 =Adjust the memory consumption level that triggers an alert message.

This mode shows you an alert message on the touch panel display when the memory consumption of all jobs such as printing, copying, and sending reaches a certain level. The memory consumption level that triggers an alert message can be specified to your preference, in units of percentage. This helps you confirm the amount of memory consumed when the message appears and avoid using up memory unnecessarily.

1 -Press (Additional Functions) → [System Settings].
2 -Press [^] or [V] until [Mem. Used When Warning Displayed] appears →
press [Mem. Used When Warning Displayed].
          3 -Press [On] or [Off].
[On]: Displays an alert message when the memory consumption reaches the level to be specified in the
next step. Press [OK] → go to the next step.
[Off ]: Does not display an alert message even if the available memory gets low. Press [OK] to complete
          the procedure.
4 Press [^] or [V] to decide the memory consumption level for an alert message → press [OK].
Press [V] to decrease the memory consumption level (minimum: 60%) or press [^] to increase it
(maximum: 95%). Each press of [V] or [^] decreases or increases the level in five percent increments.

          IMPORTANT
The setting values (60 to 95%) are a rough indication and do not always correspond to the actual memory consumption; even if an alert message appears, there may be enough memory left to be used.
