[Misc] imagePRESS C1 and Server T1 problem

the server is T1 version 1.0 when i go in the the touch panel in Printer Status/Settings to configure the server i see only a full screen window with "Please wait" message after a while the message windows disappear, other menus and setting works well.

it seems a server problem, i checked the server connection cable are ok ( crossover cable, and video cable are connected ) the 7-segment display shows a 00 i don't think is an error message right ?

what can i do, there is a way to reset/restore it ?

    ------------------------------------
Disconnect T1 from printer> remove all cables including it's power plug>keep T1 Disconnected

power off printer >POWER Up printer > go in service mode
    COPIER>OPTION>INTFACE>IMG-CONT - switch to "0" Ok ! exit screen menu=
next power off (use shut down method below)> now power back up>
    go back to

    COPIER>OPTION>INTFACE>IMG-CONT - switch back to "3" Ok ! exit screen menu=
    now power off again>
Now re-connect all cables from T1 back to Printer>
    now power printer back up

now see if u can now go into PRINTER Tab ? u may need to clear server if u get in

    Note
(u can also check & re-seat Open I/F PCB while printer is off)

How to Turn off the Main Power Properly
    1) Hold down the control panel power switch for 3
    sec. or more.
    2) Perform the shut-down sequence indicated on the
screen. (The main power will go off automatically.)

You can clear the server from the Control Panel (LCD) or by using the Clear command from the Command WorkStation.

Clearing Server from the Control Panel:

    1. Enter Fiery Setup (select 'Run Setup' from the idle menu or select to enter setup during bootup).

    2. Scroll down the Fiery Setup menu and select 'Clear Server'.

    3. It will prompt you to confirm restoring to factory defaults. Select 'Yes' and then 'OK'.

    Clearing Server from Command Workstation:

    1. Launch Command WorkStation and log into the Fiery controller as Administrator.

    2. Click the Server menu and select 'Clear Server'.

    3. Depending on the version of Command Workstation and the Fiery device, you may have the option to select exactly what items to clear. If you have this option, check the items to clear and click OK.

    4. Click 'Yes' at the confirmation window to perform the selected clear.

do u follow proper shut down procedure?
Shutdown Mode function that should be used before powering off the machine. Shutting the machine down properly will help protect the data on the machine's hard drive. Use the following procedure: 1. Enter Shutdown Mode by either of the following methods:
I - Press Additional Functions > Common Settings > Shut Down Mode.

    OR
II - Hold down the ON/OFF power button on the machine's control panel for 5 seconds (NOT the ON/OFF power switch on the side of the machine's main body).

    2. The Shutdown Mode screen will appear on the machine's LCD screen. It will display the processes currently running on the machine.

    3. Press the Start button on the LCD screen to begin the shutdown process.
    4. Wait until the shutdown process finishes. When it is finished, the following message will be displayed:
'Turn off the main power switch (on the main unit's right side).'
    * Forced Off Option - If the shutdown process is taking too long and you must power down the machine as soon as possible, you can hit the Forced Off button on the LCD screen. This will stop the finishing process of the hardware and/or updating of the device data. The 'Turn off the main power switch (on the main unit's right side)' message will appear almost immediately. THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED. It is best to let the shutdown process finish before powering off the main unit.

    * The newer machines will power themselves off at the end of this process. There is no need to use the power switch on the side of the machine's main body to power down the unit.

    5. Turn off the ON/OFF power switch on the side of the machine's main body to power down the unit.

first of all thanks for your help, i tried every step and nothing is changed

my problem it's the server, i can't configure it in the lcd panel and even i can't see it in the network so i can't clear it with command workstation, when i connect the straight cable from network port of the server to my router i won't get any ip, there is another way to reset or recover it ?

can i use my C1 without the server just like a normal printer ?

      thx again.

        ==========================================

did this issue just happen ?
who did the original install of T1 to printer ?
where u able to print thru the T1 before ?

do u have an IT person on site ?

        -------------------------------------------------------------------
        Connecting to the Copier:
The imagePRESS Server T1 communicates with the copier through two cables:
A copier interface cable that provides the print and scan connection between the imagePRESS Sever and the copier, and an Ethernet crossover cable that carries command and status information between the imagePRESS Server and the copier.
Included in the packaging with the imagePRESS T1 are two Ethernet cables. The longer of the two cables (labeled FK2-2281 RevA) is a Shielded Ethernet patch cable that is to be used to connect the imagePRESS T1 to the customer’s LAN.
The shorter of the two cables (labeled FK2-2279 RevA) is a Shielded Cross-Over Ethernet cable that is used to connect the imagePRESS T1 to the copier.

Installation of Interface Board for Video Interface
A Video cable connection is added to the imagePRESS C1 along with the conventional Ethernet crossover cable connection. In order to implement the video cable connection, an interface board is supplied with the controller. When the controller is installed, the interface board needs to be installed on the imagePRESS C1.

Connection of Crossover Cable and Network Cable
When connecting a (Command and Status) crossover cable and a network cable to the imagePRESS Sever T1, make sure you connect the cables to the correct positions of the network port on the imagePRESS Server T1.

Re: imagePRESS C1 and Server T1 problem

The machine was installed by an official canon technician years ago, before i was able to print it was only moved to a new workplace with a truck less than a week ago, all connection are made has indicated by manuals ( and you ) with original cables, i've inspected inside the server too, cleaned ram socket, checked SATA cable connection, HDD read regulary without strange noise and s.m.a.r.t value are fine, leds blinks on the mobo and connection ports when connected and no error message are displayed on the unit.

i'm an IT person, i didn't find much on Server T1 no service manual or any support on the Fiery website or Canon, so i don't know if there is a way to format or redo a setup.

there is a way to get rid of T1 server and use the C1 without the server, i see a type B printer port on C1 is that disabled ?

Re: imagePRESS C1 and Server T1 problem

            Let's start over_
1- were u ever able to print to C1 with the T1 connected

            2-if no> do u have the CD's for the T1 ?

are u able to use RUI to see the C1 ??
            1. Launch the Remote UI (RUI). From a web browser, enter the Canon machine's IP address in the address bar.
            2. Select the Device button.
            3. Select Information or Device information depending on your Canon model.
            4. Now you will see the firmware information> next to Controller Version// and example would be 3002.1143.501
            System=MN-CONT is 30.02/ BOOTROM is 11.43/DCON is 5.01

what is your C1 Printer firmware ver. ??
if u cant get into RUI/ print out a P PRINT in service mode

Re: imagePRESS C1 and Server T1 problem

i have the some problem with t1 server to communicate with c1.

what i understant it is problem of female port ethernet on color pas t1. when i start the colorpass and not connect any cabel here the light of port not start. when i insert a crossover cabel the light greeen start and not blinking the other light start blinkin orange. if i remove the cable the light green stay on. i think this is problem of ethernet port on color pass. exist any method to connect colorpass with usb cable printer? or with usb cable to usb machine. need somthing to change on machin c1.
the problem i think this is made reset the system and now i cant access from web inerface because my manual IP address probably was changet and i cant find default range to access from web. some one know the default range of IP address of T1?

any Idea pleas how to resolve this problem.

You should create another thread in the canon forum, as it is an old thread or publication that is very difficult for some specialists to respond to.
the crossover network cable from server to printer, direct network cable (internet) on the other network port of the server.
To modify or update the IP address of the server, you have to enter the icon that says printer
