          Hi

Anybody Idea how to load a custom wallpaper onto a Gen 3 lll product?
The bgimport procedure works on the Gen 3 l series & the Gen 3 ll series but doing the same procedure brings up the same page but says access is restricted, I cant seem to find any info on the canon tech website that refers to a different procedure...
          Any help gladly appreciated!

How to Customize Your Canon Copier Background For Main Menu

How To Customize Your Canon Copier Background for Main Menu

                I. Uploading the custom wallpaper to the device

                1. Enter [http://<device IP address>/bgimport] into the address bar of Internet Explorer.

Note: The only way to access this function is by typing this address into the URL bar.
There is no button within the RUI. As a reminder, this function must be turned on within service mode.

You will not see this screen unless you are in service mode.

                In service mode;
                COPIER
                OPTION
                FNC-SW
                SVC-RUI (In page 5 or 6, I think)

Set a number to this setting. Then use that number on upload.

                2. Click [Browse] to find the image file that will be imported to the device.
Note: Only files that meet the specific pixel and naming guidelines can be uploaded.
                Below are the image requirements:

Dimensions (Width/Height) File Type (Naming Convention)
                Full screen image 800 x 600 pixels *_BG.png
                Thumbnail image 200 x 150 pixels *_BG_tn.png
                3. Select the Image File Name.

                4. Click [Open]

                5. Enter the password.

                6. Click [Start Importing].

Note: This password is assigned while the device is in Service Mode. Please work with your service technician to obtain the password.

                1. Click [Ok].
                2. Restart the Machine.

Note: The next step is to make the image accessible to end-users from the Main Menu Wallpaper Setting interface. You must restart the device for the changes to take effect.

II. Selecting the uploaded custom wallpaper from the UI

                9. Touch [Settings/Registration] button to log into the device as an Administrator.

                10. Touch [Log in].

                11. Enter the required information and touch [Log in].

12.Touch [Close] to exit the Settings / Registration screen.

Note: Steps 1-3 are only necessary if you are not automatically logged in as the Administrator

                13. At the Main Menu Screen, touch the [User Interface Settings]icon.

                14.Select [Main Menu Wallpaper Setting].

15.Touch the [page down] button to go to Page

                16.Touch [Other Settings 1].

                17.Touch [OK].

Note: Note: The pattern, brightness, and design of the image affect how easy the LCD panel text can be read. Your customers should keep this in mind when designing custom backgrounds.

                  Thanks Teckat

I've done this many times on the Image runner advance 2 series and the Gen 3 MKl & ll but for some reason on the MKlll devices I get the message saying the web page is restricted despite the SVC rui being set to any number....

I think I will have to contact Canon

                  Thanks

The procedure to perform this task is far less complex on the last two Toshiba generation of copiers. Five keystrokes including Admin log in.

In fact, I lead with the easy ability of Toshiba copiers to fully customize the LCD panel.

Good, I'm really pleased for you!, but there are much better products on the market than what Toshiba offer, for you to lead with in sales.
Yes it may be easier on an Toshiba to customize the screen than on a canon device, but I'd rather own or work on a canon product any day of the week as opposed to a Toshiba, the build quality of a Toshiba is poor in every way, terrible to work on and poor output quality.
Canon products are solid ,robust, reliable products , and excellent colour quality (on the colour range) ,and what they do, they do it well.

                          Thanks
