[Jamming] Canon IR 3235 First Copy Jam Occurred

    Dear all,

I have problem on this machine. The problem is when we turn on the machine in the morning and we try a first copy, the machine jam in the fixing unit. After we removed the jam, the machine will become okay.It always happened on first switch ON only. We replace already the fixing film ass'y and the pressure roller but still paper jam. When we check on JAM history it says that "Delay JAM on PS14" we tried to clean that sensor and also the PS13 but it keeps jamming on first Switch ON.

    Thank you,

When you replaced the fixing film did you remove all of the old grease that had dried up on the heater element? Also did you use 95% of the grease provided with the film in a nice little skim on the heater element with the rest on the end blocks? Anyhow, it does kinda sound like there is a problem there, check by running several 11X17 copies of your test print and see if there are crinkles or folding issues on the printouts. Also, if you chose to pull out the fuser unit for inspection, hand rotate it with the pressure on and check to see that the paper feeds relatively easily through the assembly. Clean the fuser inlet guide plates of old toner buildup as well just for the heck of it. Hope this helps Mark.

Thank you for the reply. yeah we put some grease on it, the jam only happens on first switch on, after we take out the jam, the printing will be ok. I was confused because it only happened on first switch on

        Thank you,
This is a common issue in this models and there are many threads about it.

There is a door flapper that sticks on its dampers (especially in the morning) due to the fact that the flapper has not operated during all the night. Replace or eleminate (if eleminated, you will hear a slight "click" for each print).

Replace the dampers not the flapper.
