Error 00061-00001 ir 6570

hi all

i have ir 6570

it's work and copy about 60 sheet and then i get error in the screen 061-0001

i clear the error

but But it's shows again

Potential control error.
Replace the potential sensor unit.
- Replace the laser scanner unit.
- Replace the DC controller PCB.

It could go away if you polish the drum. If you do not polish the drum you can get these e61 error codes on this and the 5000. Do that first , if that doesn't work , turn off potential control so customer can run and order a new sersor. You will need the tool to install it.

E061 There is a potential control error/there is an APC error.0001 As a result of potential control, the drum
surface potential (VL2) of the background
is 200 V or higher (i.e., causing a solid
black image).

0002 The primary charging output used at time
of printer output and the drum surface
potential after laser output is identified as
being 200 V or more (i.e., causing a solid
black image).

Check to see if the laser shutter is even opening when the door shuts, I think I saw that create the same problem on an ir 6570 a year ago, most likely you should (I know this sounds nuts) take off that fan housing that you normally remove to get at the charge coronas, if it has a broken key-pin that actuates the laser shutter door then that's the problem.

first i do not polish the drum -- i try to replaced it and i checking and i told you what happen

second - how can i turn off potential control - i have 3 machine ir 6570 -i can use part from any one to solve the problem

I assume that you meant "fan" and it's inside the front door with 3 screws holding it in place as well as 1 connector. Just replace it with one from your other machines. Though I'm now thinking that it could possibly also be your charge coronas so swap them out as well from your other ir6570.


If the previous ideas fail to solve the problem then to turn off the Potential control as a previous poster had mentioned, here is the information.

by replace the drum and corona
