[Misc] Canon ir adv C5235I user ID mangement

Got a customer with a 5235i, but it could be any machine using id management. Set up so that they can use black print and copy without the need for an id.

Does any one know if you can set it so you can use the send function without an id?

Don't quote me on this but I seem to recall seeing this option in the ID management section of the remote UI. I think it's in a different spot on the machine itself.

You'll probably need to get hold of a service manual which has the whole ID MANAGEMENT settings included. You can find the service manual here:

You'll need to look at page 181 which covers the ID MANAGEMENT. The manual is a big document (1410 pages or 72MB).

You can, either allow or prohibit this via "Limit Functions." From the RUI: Settings/Registration : Management Settings : User Management > Department ID Management > Department ID Management Settings and uncheck Send under Limit Functions.

Will be in a similar location on the control panel.

in other iR's With Department ID mode enabled/
black copies & prints be made without entering an ID and password

Additional Functions > System Settings > Dept. ID Management > Allow Black Copy/Inbox Print Jobs > On
& Allow Black Printer Jobs > On


for your ADVANCED model check under

User Mode ([Settings/Registration]), select [Management Settings] > [User Management]> [Department ID Management]

Department ID Management

Department ID Management /On, Off*
Register PIN Register, Edit, Delete, Limit Functions
Page Totals Clear, Print List, Clear All Totals, Large2 Count Management
Allow Printer Jobs With Unknown IDs /On*, Off
Allow Remote Scan Jobs With Unknown IDs /On*, Off
Allow Black Copy/ Mail Box Print Jobs/ On, Off*
Allow Black Printer Jobs /On, Off*
