[Misc] Canon ir C3220 w/c1 not printing

Hi guys, i stumbled across this forum while doing some research on our C3220. the machine was printing/scanning/copying just fine until an now ex employee messed with it. i know nothing about these machines other then what i have read over the last few days.

    on to the problem...
if i connect the ethernet cable to the c1, then the patch cable into the NIC on the machine. i can not see the machine on my network, if i run my network cable to the NIC on the machine, i am able to see and ping the machine. also i am running it as DHCP.

now with it set up where i can ping and see the machine i am able to scan from it using my adobe pro, and i am able to add the network printer and send a print job to it, however somewhere between point A (my computer) and point B (the printer) the job is being lost. i am running the most current UFR II

any ideas would be much appreciated

    Enter Service mode (Additional Functions > 2 & 8 > Additional Functions).
    Select Copier > Option > INT-FACE > IMG-CONT.
Make sure the setting is at "3" and press OK.
power off printer>use/follow the shutdown method on control panel

put the cables back to original position >
    1-NETWORK to C1>
    2-Patch(Crossover Cable ) from C1 to Printer(3220)
    3-power up printer

ok i will do this right now, on the c1, the network should go in the bottom port correct?

          -------------------
Make sure the DIP switches on the imagePass are both in the down position.

did u follow the shutdown ??

Shutdown Mode function that should be used before powering off the machine. Shutting the machine down properly will help protect the data on the machine's hard drive. Use the following procedure:

          1. Enter Shutdown Mode by either of the following methods:
I - Press Additional Functions > Common Settings > Shut Down Mode.
          OR
II - Hold down the ON/OFF power button on the machine's control panel for 5
seconds (NOT the ON/OFF power switch on the side of the machine's main body).
          2. The Shutdown Mode screen will appear on the machine's LCD screen. It will display the processes currently running on the machine.
          3. Press the Start button on the LCD screen to begin the shutdown process.
          4. Wait until the shutdown process finishes. When it is finished, the following message will be displayed:
'Turn off the main power switch (on the main unit's right side).'
          * Forced Off Option - If the shutdown process is taking too long and you must power
down the machine as soon as possible, you can hit the Forced Off button on the LCD
screen. This will stop the finishing process of the hardware and/or updating of the
device data. The 'Turn off the main power switch (on the main unit's right side)'
message will appear almost immediately. THIS IS NOT RECOMMENDED. It is best
to let the shutdown process finish before powering off the main unit.
          * The newer machines will power themselves off at the end of this process. There is no need to use the power switch on the side of the machine's main body to power down the unit.
          5. Turn off the ON/OFF power switch on the side of the machine's main body to power down the unit.

==========then power back up> the waiting under Printer tab should go to it's menu shortly( known issue with these C1's

          ????? does your C1 have a power switch ??
          if so
The imagePASS-C1 v2.0 can be turned ON/OFF using the copiers main power switch. This feature is made possible by the PCC PCB in the imagePASS-C1 v2.0.
This feature requires that the power switch of the imagePASS-C1 v2.0 remain in the ON position.

With the power switch of the imagePASS-C1 v2.0 in the ON position, the imagePASS-C1 v2.0 will power up when the copier’s main power switch is turned to the ON position.
In order to turn OFF the imagePASS-C1 v2.0 (from a full running state), the imagePASS-C1 v2.0 must first be shutdown via the operation panel of the copier.
Then the copier’s main power switch can be turned OFF.
When servicing the imagePASS-C1 v2.0, it is important to turn OFF the power switch on the imagePASS itself and to disconnect the power cable.

Re: Canon ir C3220 w/c1 not printing

ok i have the print tab now, when i click the one button under it, it says wait a moment(if the screen doesnt change......) well the screen doesnt change so i double checked all the connections like it says, and tried to rerun it, same result of after 10 minutes it just reverts back to the home screen.

My C1 does not have a power switch, iv also tried following both of your power down procedures and neither of them worked

under common settings there is no power down option, and as soon as i hit the on/off switch the screen turns off but the C1 stays on. and when i hit the on/off button again the printer spools back up and rerun's its warm up.

i did reset the MMI as per another post on this forum suggested, as well as mn-con.

so from what iv gathered and read, i still need to run set-up under the printer tab, however i can not get to it.

                =======================

                Try this---exactly in order
                1-set IMG-CONT back to "0"> hit OK!
2-follow the shutdown procedure on control panel and power off printer

3-remove all the C1 fiery connections from the printer side (crossover cable, Communications interface cable)
4-power back up printer / with out fiery connected
                on password prompt > enter> Fiery.1

                hopefully this will work
