Does anybody know if there is a way to avoid having to re scan an entire job if a page somewhere in the stack jams. Some customers run big scan jobs and whenever the df jams for whatever reason, the whole job has to be aborted and restarted

Re: IR5570 Jam When Scanning To Folder
Firstly check the Jam History - ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS > 2+8 > ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS > DISPLAY > JAM (post jam code if needed) also in Service Mode check the Durable Life of the DADF Rollers in - COUNTER > DRBLE 2. Clean all the Pickup, Feed, Delivery Rollers and also the Sensor/ Detectors in the DADF. -
Re: IR5570 Jam When Scanning To Folder
It's not a problem with jamming. It's just that the occasional jam seems to come when scanning a large amount. It's a law office so originals may be folded or had been stapled. Whatever the case, I'm just trying to find out if there's a way to be able to pick up the scanning job at the jam point and not have to start over.Comment

I used to scan in 400 page documents using these machines so I might have some general advice, but not what you were hoping for because I never did figure out how to do what you were asking for with the ir series copiers. Sure the old NP series would let you do that when copying but these ones are frustrating, especially when you get to the second to last page on a big sliced service manual. Anyhow, the solution is, as you probably already have suspected is to service the document feeder by replacing the tires and sep pad as well as not having any folded pages or staples or frazzled lead edge documents. Sorry I couldn't help you beyond this but I too never did find a solution to this.
If I had to guess, I think it's because the document is usually converted to a PDF file and therefore a perfect scan might be required in order to maintain perfect document security, but I really don't know, anyhow I'm sure that this would be a good enough excuse for your client to stop calling you because they forgot to remove staples from their originals.
