    ir2525 drawer 1 size

    I did an all clear and now drawer 1 won't read a size. Does this need programming? Other 3 drawers are fine. TIA

    The cassette [1] is locked at the location where it can't push the paper size detection push switch completely
    when it is inserted.

      Figured it out. A good firm closing of the tray and it will recognize paper size

        Thought I had it. Moved machine and put in place and same problem paper lifts but doesn't recognize any size and says load paper. Only the top drawer. Any help would be great

          Cassette 1 paper level sensor A S3
          sensor=OFF /100% to 50%-FULL/sensor-ON 50% to 50 sheets
          sensor=ON 50 sheet or less

          Cassette 1 paper level sensor B S4
          sensor=OFF /100% to 50%-FULL/sensor-OFF 50% to 50 sheets
          sensor=ON 50 sheet or less

          Cassette 1 paper sensor
          sensor=OFF /100% to 50%-FULL/sensor-OFF 50% to 50 sheets
          sensor=OFF 50 sheet or less
          sensor=ON no paper

          This machine does not have the paper level sensor in the cassette.

          This machine has the cassette 1 paper sensor (S2) to detect the paper.

            But the display doesn't display a paper size. Isn't that controlled by the switches within the cavity, I believe it's s6? Paper does lift all the way.

              Paper Size Detection

              Paper size of the cassette can be automatically detected by adjusting the position of the guide plate-
              Concavo-convex area of the cassette dial is switched when the guide plate is shifted and two Size Switches on a printer are switched.
              Length and width are detected according to the ON/ OFF combination of switches. As long as standard paper, both AB type and inch type can be used.
              However, size should be found manually on the check screen for the combination of A5-Rand STMT-R or the combination of B5-R and EXEC.

              Also, the cassette presence is detected when the size switch is pushed. (If no switch is pushed, it is determined as no cassette.)

                If you haven't yet----Remove the cassette and check behind it for paper wadded up in the back.

                  Thanks for the replies. The right switch which is triggered by the side guide does not respond while the left one does trigger a drive I assume within the pfu. The other drawers get a response from both switches. Without that the machine is not going to see a cassette. I ordered switches and will return Monday. Fortunately they have 3 other drawers. Just thought it wass odd since meter is only 500 copies

                      Thanks for the reply.It's a good bulletin. However I should have mentioned that this is a 550 sheet tray but I appreciate your help.

                        Followed connector for switches back to dc and it was not fully connected. Now just have to search service mode for scanner glass sensitivity. Keeps telling me the glass is dirty

                          Change setting in service mode # Scan > Reader > Option > Body > DFDST-L1 & L2

                          DFDST-L1 /0 /\ 0 to 255 Dirt detection level adjustment (between documents) during ADF use

                          DFDST-L2 /0 /\ 0 to 255 Dirt detection level adjustment
                          (upon job completion) during ADF use

                          Dirt detection level adjustment (between documents) during ADF use.

                          Increase the value when dirt fails to be detected, resulting in black streaks. However, if the value is increased too much, even small-sized dirt of the kind which does not appear on the image will also be detected, and the cleaning instruction screen may appear frequently.

                          Reduce the value if users complain because the cleaning instruction screen which appears when dirt is detected is displayed frequently.
                          Conversely, if the value is reduced too much, black streaks may appear on the images.
                          When '0' is set, the correction control function used when dirt is detected is canceled.
