    IR6570 can't connect to network

This copier had been printing from network nicely until recent when it stopped receiving jobs and the monitor displays check network tcp/ip. Copying is normal and printing from USB is possible.

I tested the patch cable and even swapped it and found to be OK.

On checking further, I found the default key to be corrupted (however it wasn't displayed in the status monitor), I generated a new one and made it default, still couldn't connect.

I performed DC CON Clear, at this point on reboot it displayed "Default Key Corrupted', to which I once again generated a new one and made it default. I put new settings and tested but all was in vain.

So please, I need your advice.

    Regards!

maybe I am wrong but Corrupt Key is not related to network connection.

I would cross-check ip data of copier and of network. Maybe IT staff changed smth.

when machine displays : "check network tcp/ip"

I always translate it like : " There is nothing with machine - check cable & network configuration"

    hope it helps !

V-P got a point. Try to ping to check connections and of course check ip settings before clear anything.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Need to check the ip address of the machine to make sure it did not get changed some how. If it did not change, hook up a laptop directly to it and see if you can print (cross over cable). Just to make sure the port is good.

          Thank you for the suggestions!

I have gone through all those network configurations and addressing verifications. In fact I am the one who designed and implemented this small network of about 14 devices about 4 years ago and added this particular printer a year ago. So it has been in service for a year and there are other networked printers which are working without problem.

I have seen network guys unplug a copiers connection for some unknown reason, also check the ip address of not only the copier but the computers too sometimes a new internet service provider will change the ip address

Everything cross checked on the network side, except the hardware side of the copier. I am suspecting the NIC, whereas in this model will mean the whole Main Controller because I found it to be embedded on board. Has anyone come across such a scenario?

You haven't mentioned trying to reinstall the (latest) printer driver to see if this could resolve the issue; try to reinstall the driver direct on the server or on the individual client computers.

The installed printer driver is ver. 8.90.

Usually, when the copier is hooked properly (configured and discoverable), the GREEN and AMBER lights at the NIC will become on, as well I would be able to access the Remote User Interface, RUI even before installing any driver, but this does not happen.

A bit tricky of a situation. The NIC is built into the Main controller PCB, expensive affair to replace. If you have the machine's network guide book, you could make further reference, especially on the 'settings and configuration'; Poor contact at or by the RJ45 connector is also possible. Don't forget that our market is flooded with poor network cables and connectors. One time we went to upgrade a iR6570, did the necessary connection with a brand new 'crossover' cable we had just bought from a computer store in town, only to discover that the cable was not working. No green and amber lights at the connection. We had to get another crossover from another shop to do the work! The NIC circuitry, like all other logic circuits, normally operate at very low logic voltages of between 3.3v_5.0v, these imply very low component failure rate, considering that 'De-rating' of the components is done. Did you try connecting the m\c on your laptop with a crossover cable as a member suggested? Does the GREEN & AMBER glow with this?
