Help w/Canon ir3570, ligth image at center of copy only... printing comes out great.

I have tried cleaning the optics (CIS?) twice and still get copies from ADF or off the glass with a area in the middle of the copy that is light (faded looking) in the same spot every time.

I am wondering if it could be a magnetic roller or a Developing unit issue? Or what suggestions do you all have?

Again if I print from the computer the printed page comes out looking great it is only when copied either from ADF or Glass that I have this issue.

Your input (Help) is greatly appreciated.

I had a similar problem and the only thing that corrected it was replacing the glass with the white reference plate

      Contact image sensor
      (CIS)

LED serves as the source of light used to expose the original.

Light Guide directs the light from LEDs to the entire length of a single
      image line of the original.

Rod Lens Array collects light reflected by the original.

CCD Array collects the reflected light coming through the rod lens array.

Thanks Teckat, I had this from my service manual but are you saying there are bad LED's or CCD's? This is what I cleaned with a clean-dry-cloth, twice.

as much as I hate to tell you to do this put a couple of drops of windex on a rag and clean the edges of your mirrors I bet you have a ozone/web oil haze on them. Dont drench the rag just a little is all you need, and remember this is not for everyday use. The mirror can be harmed if this is done on a regular basis as the coating is on the surface not on the back like the mirrors in your bathroom.

Don't service a lot of Canon equipment but , Yes clean the optics again. On the Kyocera 's we have this problem with fumes from the fuser getting on the optics. Fumes settle in the middle of the mirrors so that's where it's causing the light copies. If the prints look fine then it can't be developer related??
