canon ir3030 cant receive fax but can send .

I tried to on-hook with another line and another machine, apparently the phone does not want to run to the fax tones as usual

probably using a voip phone line, change the baud rate to 9600 or 7200, Disable any bandwidth saver settings on you VoIP line. With most VoIP providers, you will have a bandwidth saver setting that helps assure voice quality during transmission of your conversation; however, this setting can result in loss of data packets and thereby hinder your ability to send faxes

Is the processing data light flashing indicating it is receiving a fax.
Checking the job>, you may find that a print or fax job is being held in the queue.

In service mode perform an all clear.
SERVICE MODE> FAX > CLEAR > ALL
Power cycle the machine.

Note: Be sure to print out the fax user data list prior to doing the fax all clear and re-enter the data once the clear is complete.

Is it on a PBX? it might need the switch reset.

Would also recommend turning ECM off as well. What happens if you call it on a regular phone? Will it pick up? Do you hear tones from the machine?
