    [Misc] canon ir1600 - Does not print on A3 from any tray and manual feeder. A4 works fine.

    Hi genius minds,

    I am an architect and i use my ir1600 as a printer. I prefer printing on A3 paper. My machine was working fine but from one day onwards it is not printing on A3 paper. i have tried from both the trays and the manual feeder too. i have done the settings in the tray for paper sizes and orientation correctly. When i give a print command to the printer (usb connection) the job indicator led lights up but after few seconds it goes down, showing no errors. There is no noise of the rollers, pickup assembly etc. from the printer. While A4 prints well.

    Also while printing on A4 the printer always prints three pages, one page consists of what i want and remaining two pages are either blank or with some unrecognized data on them.

    Pleaze help me out.

      Which driver did you install??
      check on your printer which is the PDL kit??
      After install correct driver. that is driver issue.

          i have uninstalled and reinstalled pcl6 drivers for canon ir1600. but the problem persists...

          is there any problem with retry sensor and registration sensor??

              are you sure it's PCL board? have you updated the drivers from canon website? have you tried PCL5 drivers? UFRII drivers? usually this symptom indicates driver problem, and you have to change in the driver the way it's reads characters so it reads bitmaps instead of characters in the updated driver off course

                  thanks to all for prompt replies,

                  i disassembled the cassette unit and then cleaned the two visible sensors on top and now my machine is back. it is printing a3 and a4 absolutely fine. while disassembling the printer with the cassette units i have to disconnect connections from the printer to the cassette units and after cleaning the sensors, i reconnected the connection while assembling. May be that would have helped and solved the case. But all is well when it ends well.

                  But i love you guys. You try your best to help anyone without any personal interest.
