    IRC 3380i Canon E749

    Hi ,

I have a Canon MFP with the following error E749 its an IRC 3380i.

The manual describes the fault as follows: E747

E747 Main controller PCB error (Image processing ASIC or memory control/communication control ASIC)

A reeboot sorts the prolem , but it returns a day later. Any ideas?

    Thanks in Advance....

u quote posted two different codes ?

    if it's a 747 code > do the Board Cleaning/Adjustment >see pdf>works 95% of the time
    Board Cleaning_Board Position-TP07 094.pdf

if it's a 749 code > u can remove Boot Rom to re-seat it/ hopefully u have the correct one in there

        Thanks teckat,

carried out Board Cleaning/Adjustment , the area around the boards was full of dust.
Gave the area a blow out. Checked and reseated the boards. Problem resolved.

        Thanks again, great result.
