[Misc] IR1023if scan to email issue

Hello all, I have a 1023 that will not scan to email, causes the machine to initialize itself. Compared the spec report from a working model, the only differences that I see are that BW-Send and CL-Send are turned off on the non emailing copier. That that Universal Send was installed on these machines. Any ideas how to turn them on? Or is that a licensing issue.

    Thanks a bunch

hi, the 1023/1024/23j/24j series dont do scan to email aka "push scan", that's only available on 1023i/1024i/23if/24if series, only i/if (i stands for inteligent series) have send functions includind "push scan" yours only have "pull scan"

only saw it now lol sorry, wich firmware version do you have? IR1023 is a US model only, in europe we have the 1024 and the latest version is "WLAA 11.01 all European Languages" check canon USA for an update, you can check your actual in "reports" in service mode

Check and Verify that the PCL Version is Registered on the SST and the PCL MUST be Installed on Machine to Enable Send Feature.

              SEND
remove USB Drive on rear of machine and re-seat.
Verified when powered on that the led is lit on the USB drive.

              remove & re-seat network i/f PCB
remove DDR Module from the Image Processor PCB, clean contacts , then re-seat the DDR Module -

Additional Functions > System Settings > [Restrict the Send Function] or [Restrict Access to Destinations] > [Restrict New Address]

make sure all are set "ON" may differ from model to model.

                Hi,

Current firmware highest ought to be 70.02, I might be wrong. This version came out with SSL settings for email settings.

Have you tried downgrade 1 version lower than your current machine? There is 1 firmware version that had this issue of missing email settings after upgrading but I ain't sure is it your this machine's version

Thanks again for the tips...it turns out that the PCL portion of the firmware was the culprit, reloaded the firmware and it turned on the BW and CL send features. The other interesting thing to note was that before this firmware was done, there was no choice in the one touch dials for the address book for smb, email, or i/fax.
