[Error Code] Canon ir 3300, 803 Error code.

Someone can help me? , I have a Canon ir 3300.Two weeks ago, during a electric storm, a thunderbolt turn off the electricity and when it come back, the copier show E000803 error code. Then when i checked the main power supply pcb, after test de 24 volts in 204 and 300 connectors, i sow that two resistors of 15 ohms were damaged and i did change both, but when turn on de copier, the same error code appears, and the two resistors were damaged again. Then i checked again the main power supply pcb, i noted a overheated zone between the two 15 ohms resistors and a integrated circuit (sma-z1001, regulator). In this zone i checked all diodes, resistors and capacitors, and are fine. The problem is that i asked for the sma-z1001 regulator , and nobody had it. Please someone can buy it in USA and send it to me?. Of course ill send the money, Please-

Funny though! From your profile, you live in the US state of Arizona, and you want someone who live in the USA to buy the ic and send it to you ...where?
Any way, try changing the whole power supply pcb, you may also need to go a step further and check your dc controller pcb.

Ohh let me tell you this: 1.- Yes, im not live in usa, but when i registered, i wrotte the country, Mexico, then i wanted write state but there isnt a way to do this. 2.- Im not a technician, i have a small copycenter and i havent much money. 3.- thank you for your help, but i did check the 24v in 204 y 300 connectors and doesnt exists, therefore the only solution is to change the main power supply pcb but new its very expensive, 1000 usdlls more or less, and i have not this money. I have worked 3 days on the pcb and i checked, diodes, transistors, capacitors, resistors and the only thing that could damaged is the regulator (sma-z1001). Ohhh yes of course, the easy way to fix it is buy a new pcb. Its still funny?

Yea that attitude will get you a lot of help here. If you spent your time selling copies instead of trying to diagnose a copier you might have made enough money to actually pay for the repair. A more humbled attitude might also have gotten you pointed in a direction where you could get a power supply cheaper or get yours repaired but I think you're thinning the herd of helpers.

If my memory serves me right, I think the switching regulator must get a 'keying pulse' from the main controller pcb in order for it to trigger and conduct, and deliver the 24v and other outputs.

Are you a electronic tech? How do you check the caps on the board?? Ohm meter?? What about whats connected to them? Did you inject dc and ac voltages into to it to trace out signals?? I've been doing board repairs for 35 years.. save yourself the time and order a new powersupply

And yes, there is a signal from the main controller that tells power supply to turn on. Its called the remote signal(RMT1 and RMT2)If you have outputs from your supply then remote is there. Get the schematic, a meter and verify this.

Thanks Brian for your comment. Since one month ago the sales fell and i paid something and no have money in this time. I need more humbled attitude? i dont think so. I think we are humans and if we want to help to other person if we can, is how we are, is an attitude to the life, and this no depends on the attitude of the person that needs help. Thanks.

Thanks a lot. The diagram is for dc controller this board had the 300 connector. The main power suppy (fh3-2613-00, 120 v) had the 204 connector and this pcb is damaged. Thanks for the supplier. And yes if you are a copier technician you dont have time to check pcbs components. Thanks.

No, im not a electronic technician, Im Metalurgical Engineer and i worked in this area for 17 years. Two years ago,i run a samall copicenter. The caps i checked with the ohmmeter looking for continuity or short circuit. If ok then injected only 6 volts dc , and y checked the volts when discharged them. All components that i checked were removed from de board, checked them and welding again. Thanks a lot.

Hi, Thanks for your help. The diagram is of the dc controller. It had the 300 connector. The main power supply (FH3-2613-00, damaged) had the 204 connector. Thanks.

Yesterday i traveled 320 km to buy the main power supply, it was raining hard but i did return with the pcb. Today installed it, and turn on the ir 3300 and all its ok. I paid 280 usdll. Now i have time to get the regulator (sma-z1001) to fix the another pcb and i will sell it.
