Irc3080i Blank copie's/prints drums not rotating

Hi, I have a canon irc3080i thats been down for a week now and i really need it back up and running, It's producing blank copies and prints was throwing up an e020 002 error after replacing drums but has now cleared on re-fitting original drums.

Thing is i have checked for image on itb but there is nothing the drums dont seem to be rotating.

any idea's ???

How do you know the drums are not rotating?

First thing I would check is the clutch at the back, see if it is depressed, there are lots of illustrations on this, do a search

Have you tried doing a copy in a single clour, ie magenta / blue / yellow? See if you can isolate the faulty drum?

Take a look at the primary contact from the ITB to the process unit, is it deformed? Is the contact clean?

when you press the hood down on the process unit does it fit flush?

you should better have a closer look if the itb belt is running. Attached to the drum drive assy is a toothed plate whitch drives the itb assy, check if its broken or stucked on its shaft.

If you are seeing solid lines on all the drum unit, Replace the ITB and Cleaning unit. The ITB isn't turning.

Umm, that was a link for a HP transfer belt?

If you want to see the ITB turning, simply remove the paper catch plastic above the ITB, presuming you dont have any finishers of course

Or do a copy, open the side door half way through, before cleaning cycle and manually inspect ITB for image process

Did you replace the ITB Cleaning Blade/assy? If so this will stall the operation of the ITB giving blank prints - you must use only the Canon ITB Graphite Lube powder...........because no other lube will work.

Yeah, know what you're saying V, I found all of the above works on most makes & models T/fer Belts, Drum & Blades etc. However with the IRC3580 Series I've had a 100% failure rate with the ITB Cleaning Blades - ie the Blades flip back & lock the Belt giving Blank copies - but surprisingly no Error Codes, so I tried the Canon recommended Graphite Powder (in Service Manual under Service Tools & Solvents) with great results - now I use it for all ITBs.

Yeah check for itb turning. Cleaner units stall them when replaced. I just barely snug up the screws...got burned a lot of times on this one. I've used 10 different lubes...no difference. Barely snug the mounting screws. Snug them up on the next call
