    IR ADV transfer mailboxes?

    Hi All,

we have a scenario where I need to transfer all the device information from one machine to the other.

Is there a simple way I can transfer all the mailbox data from one IR ADV to another without having to manually print all the documents out and reinput them into another machine.

    thanks

    CANON

Currently, there is no automated way to transfer the mailbox settings and mailbox contents (ie. stored documents) from one Canon device to another Canon device. You will have to manually export all of the stored documents from the first device (by printing them out or sending them to another location on the network via Universal Send), and then manually import them on the second device (by scanning them in or printing them to the mailboxes).

The following features are available on certain models (see the documentation for your specific model):

    1. Device Information Delivery (DID) - The machines that support DID can deliver the Additional Functions from one device to another device. The device's Mailbox Settings are delivered with the Additional Functions, but only mailboxes that are not password protected are delivered from the master device or are overwritten on the receiving device. Only the Mailbox Settings are delivered. The stored documents are not transferred to the receiving device.

    2. Backup/Restore Settings in the RUI - This feature gives the machine the ability to backup the Mailbox Settings and the contents of each mailbox (ie. the stored documents) to a shared folder on the network (via SMB). However, this backup can only be restored back onto the same device from which the backup was created. It cannot be restored to another device. This is not an import/export or transfer feature. It is only a backup/restore feature. See Related Article 55085 for more information.

Note - You cannot backup the mailboxes from the Service Support Tool.
