ir 3025 jamming with lgl paper

ltr feeds fine,but lgl jams just before entering fixing unit. Machine also feeds 2 sheets when 1 copy requested. trays are set properly. Jam code 203. Hope someone can help.

Does it jam with legal out of all the trays? if you run letter out of the tray thats jamming does it run ok?

Thats stationary at cassette 3 retry sensor. Machine has additional cassette unit?

Copier has 4 cassettes. Lgl jams from all cassettes except #1. From # 2 jam code is 202. There is no z fold.

it's the shorter paper path location #1 that will not jam

Door Assembly

does legal jam if the lower right door is pushed on

check if black pins that the lower right door hooks onto are damaged or missing. The following image shows where each pin should be located on the Paper Pickup Assembly.

Computer went down, then I went sick,hence the delay in responding. The door seems fine, so I plan to give the extra wrap to actuator. Tell me, do I have to remove the vertical rollers to give the wrap?

I had a 3245 do this to me before...legal jam,two sheets fed,when it didnt jam it had a ripple in the paper. For me it was the sound damper for the pre-reg actuator. Scraped it off and problem went away. Installed new style damper when i went back. THIS WHOLE FAMILY OF MACHINES IS NOTORIOUS FOR STICKY DAMPERS...lower diverter on door,upper duplex diverter(there are 4 dampers..2 on end and 2 in behind).

Hi Guys thanks for the suggestions, but nothing has worked so far and I an now desperate.I need to mention that at switch on, the machine immediately pulls paper from 2 trays and i get a stationary am at power on. Help!!!

Paper Feeds From the Cassette During the Power Up Sequence

In this case below , the cassette 1 pickup solenoid (SL1) was excessively dirty and not properly functioning. The solenoid was cleaned and the machine returned to proper operation.

To check the solenoid operation refer to the following test:

1) Remove the cassette from the machine
2) Power on the machine
3) Press the paper size switch pictured below



4) Look at the paper feed section. The separation roller should turn counter-clockwise and the paper feed roller should NOT turn.



5) If the paper feed roller turns, check the SL1 solenoid. Solenoid SL1 should be energized and the cam rotating. Note: When the cam is rotating the paper feed tire will not rotate



6) Make sure the solenoid is cleaned and adjusted to let the cam rotate properly.

Hi teckat, a million thanks to you. I truly appreciated the info you gave concerning the operation of the solenoid. The solenoids were cleaned and tape used to replace the sticky material which impeded the movement of the armature. Once again respect to to you. God bless.
