Canon C5051 Transfer belt cleaning unit problem

Could anyone verify that the toner being left on the tranfer roller that sits inside the right door would be the result of a worn cleaning unit? Also the drums are scoured about an inch from the farther end when you pull the drawer out.

I am going to post two pics here:

That would be your drums that are worn. Image is applied to transfer belt and then pulled onto the paper when it passes the large secondary transfer roller. I have run into the gear that drives the waste toner auger in the transfer cleaning assembly snapping off and just accumulating that purple goodness all over the yellow drum unit.

Short story change your drums :-)

External secondary has a coating of toner on it..thats normal. Some machines require to run toner coat in service mode when replacing roll..if drums are scored then replace them. Known problems with cleaner assembly dumping waste toner onto yellow drum assembly. Canon knows and new ones have been modified

Great information, thank you both! Parts have been ordered and will report back soon.

Extenal secondary is supposed to have yellow toner on it only. If you have C or M on it you can bet your drums are worn.

Reporting back that indeed it was the cleaning unit and had to replace the drums. Thanks to all!
