    ipf8300 error when starting

Got an ipf8300 that is throwing an error when the printer starts up and will not proceed past it once it shows the error.

The error it is throwing is 03130031-2F52.

It was just before this showing that in needed a head cleaning and then a possible replacement of the right PH. It threw an error while it was doing the nozzle check after the head cleaning (wasn't given the error code from that) and ever since it will not boot up completely.

    Any ideas are appreciated, thanks.

If the printer has the latest firmware installed (Ver. 1.25 or higher - iPF8300 Series), you only need to do the following:

      1. Check if the Status Print or Print INF files indicate which print head experienced the error and replace it.
      2. If the specific print head failure cannot be determined, replace both print heads.

      NOTE:
With the latest firmware installed, it is no longer necessary to replace the Carriage Relay PCB. Make sure to apply the latest firmware updates to all of the printers.

I was figuring I was going to have to get at least a new print head in for the right unit since it asked for it to be cleaned specifically before this all happened.

        The printer is on 1.25.

I can't access any menu to print anything, let alone tell the printer to do a print head swap. Going to have to "manually" change out the print head.

Thats a carriage pcb connection error. Reseat the ribbon cables attached to the carriage pcb. I believe some go to head relay pcb and others to main controller. I've had to change the main ribbon cable assembly for one of these. Pain in the ass.... I don't think a new head is gonna fix anything. Try this before popping 800 bucks for a new head...and of course newest firmware. Use the L-Print tool to download the log files

There is an issue with some of the older printheads in conjunction with older firmware.

Apparently when one of the older heads would start to go, it would knock out the carriage relay PCB with a short, then give you a pile of random errors.

If this is the case, you'll have grab the carriage relay PCB and a new printhead.

Make sure you update the firmware before you install the new head and board. There is a download mode on this machine that will let you send firmware before it even boots up.

              Hi,

worked on plenty ipf8000/8300/8400 and have found the troubleshooting of these machines is simple but expensive and honestly frustrating, the flow chart is always the same for pretty much any error, and for any model, apart from printhead replacement (e-161-403e) which is obvious....and the odd multisensor

the flow chart is always (1) printhead < (2) ribbon cables < (3) head relay pcb < (4)carriage relay pcb < (5) main cont / power supply.

its almost a process of pin the tale on the donkey........
