[Error Code] Canon ir7105 error code e-110-0000 (laser error)

Hi all,

Having issues with an IR7105 and an error code of E110-0000 (The laser scanner motor rotation has a fault....After the laser scanner motor has gone on, the PLL lock signal of the motor is not detected for 15 sec or more)...

The question i have is do we replace laser straight off or is there something else that causes this error that i could check. Reason I ask is that in 12 years of working on Canon machines I have only ever replaced one laser unit, they seem to be the one part that we hardly ever have issues with so it makes me think that there could be something else causing the issue (I'm not eliminating the laser but, am worried that when I replace it and it will make no difference).

anyone who's had this issue,.. please help.......

Prior to the 7105 only replaced a couple lasers in iR7200's for noise. With the 7105 got used to replacing lasers.

1-Machine boots up and goes right into error code. ?
2-Machine never comes Ready and never attempts to cycle. ?
3-Is it error out when machine goes into high speed rotation. ?
Is E110 occurring at the power up sequence and during a copy job ? (check for door vibration can cause the front door to momentarily pull away from the magnet catch) ???


any other errors u are aware of from customer ?

A poor connection at the machine relay board can cause erratic error codes. Unplug and reseat all of the connectors on the relay pcb.

(1)the machine boots up to the Department ID screen and just as your punching in the code it bombs out,(so i guess the answer is right after boot up)

(2)the machine starts up ie the drum rotates and the engine cycles

not sure of other errors will have to double check but as far as i know its just this error.

have gone through most of the connectors as well as removing the laser, it looks good but looks can be deceiving.........

These machines are known for laser Failure.

before u replace LASER> can u swap a Main Power supply in it ??

These machines are known for laser Failure.

Hytec or Nationwide Repair can repair for a cost to other dealers not Authorized

Is the primary corona cover on? This actuates the shutter for the laser. Boot the machine and imediately go into service mode. What is your VL reading? Should be around 70,VD around 400. If VL is way too high,then your laser is not discharging the drum during potential control. Changed many laser diode/driver assemblies on these things for light prints,mirror images..

Ill try swapping the power supply and ill try get into service mode to check the values of the lasers VD & VL.

If that doesnt work i guess the only thing to do is replace the laser, Ill let you guys know how i go.....

iR 7105 if you got ur new laser just take the shutter off of it

it will last long more more more than you can imagine

I have five iR7086 and ir7105 's with bad lasers, usually it begins with a ghost mirror image and foggy and light images.
The machine has two Laser Diode modules, does anyone know the OEM part no. of the Laser Modules ?

What difference would the shutter make? Its always open...the primary cover holds it open all the time. Has no effect on life of laser whatsoever.None. Totally coincidental. And its illegal.

hi all,

FYI, i have to admit i was a little reluctant to replace the laser in this machine, purely because i have hardly ever had lasers fail on us.

I did finally replace the laser assy a few days ago and it resolved the issue.
