service support tool does not register RUI

    Hi all

I downloaded IR3245 (46.01) firmware from the Canon site and I extract the zip file and get service support tool to search the folder, all seems good. I register the firmware in sst and get this,

    Untitled-1.jpg

As you can see the language and RUI are not registered. Even if I tick the boxes next to the red text and click ok it still doesnt register.

    Untitled-2.jpg

Where am I going wrong ?

Well you have the correct SST version, maybe remove the current Files from SST - redownload from Canon Site and extract into its own Folder (do not press SEARCH) but click on this Folder and should open and select the Files correctly.

      ---------------------------------------------------------------------

could be a Glitch make sure u have only one ver of SST installed on Laptop_______________

I always unzip to the default folder listed !!!!!!!!!!!! prevents headaches later
after unzip/ go to location and check contents of folder model ------before registering in SST

Go look in C:\Canon File Folder\SST System Software Folder\SST Files\iR3245_v47.01.01\iR3245_v47.01.01\iR3245

in there click on iR3245 folder to see if RUI & LANG folders are there / open them to see if Ver.'s are loaded in ???

      if so> open SST > select Remove Firmware> select iR3245 >check all >select remove/OK !!

now go and do the Register Firmware for iR3245 > see what is listed when found > if RUI & Language are missing again >

do the remove firmware for iR3245> then go in C:\ location and delete the iR3245 Folder /

go to Canon site and download latest iR3245 Firmware again

          -----------------

Does not have to be located in that folder / that is old way
if u follow the default unzip location it will not be stored in there

this is where to store downloads C:\Canon File Folder\SST System Software Folder\SST Files

have over 40 Firmware in above location/ never had a problem

i think it's a bug in that firmware, cause i tried to register that version (46.01) and the newest 47.01 from a folder of my choice in my everyday work PC and got the same result as you, yet added another firmware from another model and it registered normally and my SST is updated v. 4.72EK

Flash it USB...I never use SST on these...too much of a hassle. USB files available on Canon site. Make sure you copy it into the ROOT on the flash drive. You should be able to open folder and see files. If you have it in another folder in that folder it won't work. In my SST,firmware is in serv tool folder. This is where I modify the HD inf file to make other hard drives work on older models.
