    -------------------------------------------
    DADF-R1
    E410
    Cause
    - The pickup motor (M3) is faulty.
    - The pickup roller height sensor 1 (PI 8) is faulty.
    - The pickup roller height sensor 2 (PI 9) is faulty.
    - The pickup roller home position sensor (PI 7) is faulty.
    - The ADF controller PCB is faulty.
    Detection
    - The pickup roller height sensor 1 (PI 8) and the pickup roller height sensor 2 (PI 9) do not generate a signal within 2 sec after the pickup motor has been driven.
    - The pickup roller home position sensor (PI 7) does not generate a signal within 2 sec after the pickup motor has been driven.

Check Pick-up Motor (M3), Pick-up Roller Height Sensor 1 (PI 8), Pick-up Roller Height Sensor 2 (PI 9), and then Pick-up Roller Home Position Sensor (PI 7).

    A.
    Pick-up Motor (M3)
    1) Set DIP switch (SW1) on ADF Controller PCB as shown in a figure.
    DIP.JPG
    2) Press push switch (SW2). (Press push switch again when you want to stop it.)
Each press on SW3 causes the Up/Down movement.
    - Pick-up Motor is rotating: Go to "B. Pick-up Roller Height Sensor 1 (PI 8)."
    - Pick-up Motor is not rotating: Go to the step 3.
    3) Replace Pick-up Motor.
If the condition is not improved, go to "B. Pick-up Roller Height Sensor 1 (PI 8)."

    B.
    Pick-up Roller Height Sensor 1 (PI 8)

    1) Prepare a tester, and set the test range as 10 VDC.
    2) Move Pick-up Roller unit (rear side) with your hands up and down, and check voltage between
"J14-A8(+)" connector and "J14-A7(-)" connector on ADF Controller PCB.
    - The voltage is alternately changed 0V and 5V:Go to "C. Pick-up Roller Height Sensor 2 (PI 9)."
    - The voltage is not alternately changed 0V and 5V: Go to the step 3.
    3) Replace Pick-up Roller Height Sensor 1.
If the condition is not improved, go to "C. Pick-up Roller Height Sensor 2 (PI 9)."

    C.
    Pick-up Roller Height Sensor 2 (PI 9)
    1) Prepare a tester, and set the test range as 10 VDC.
    2) Move Pick-up Roller unit (front side) with your hands up and down, and check voltage between "J14-A11(+)" connector and "J14-A10(-)" connector on ADF Controller PCB.
    - The voltage is alternately changed 0V and 5V: Go to "D. Pick-up Roller Home Position Sensor
    (PI 7)."
    - The voltage is not alternately changed 0V and 5V: Go to the step 3.
    3) Replace Pick-up Roller Height Sensor 2.
If the condition is not improved, go to "D. Pick-up Roller Home Position Sensor (PI 7)."

    D. Pick-up Roller Home Position Sensor (PI 7)
    1) Prepare a tester, and set the test range as 10 VDC.
    2) Check voltage between "J14-A5(+)" connector and "J14-A4(-)" connector on ADF Controller
PCB when putting back Pick-up Roller unit to the home position with your hand.
    - When the voltage is about 5 V: Go to the step 3.
    - When the voltage is not about 5 V: Go to the step
    3) Replace ADF Controller PCB.
    4) Replace Pick-up Roller Home Position Sensor.

    NOTE:
E490 refers to the Optional Power Supply (Power Supply S1) for the DADF-R1.
This is an option power supply which must be installed into the copier

Note: This can also give you an E410 error code
