    Minimizing E009-0000 Error Codes

Measure against E009-0000 caused by the Fixing Assembly not meshing properly with the Fixing Drive Assembly.
    DETAILS:
After repeated pressure roller and fixing roller operations the frame of the Fixing Drive Assembly will become deformed.
Once the frame of the Fixing Drive Assembly is deformed the contact for the pressure roller drive gear will not mesh properly and cause E009-0000 error codes.
The shape of the pressure plate and the fixing drive assembly plate has been changed and an added screw has been implemented for the
mounting of the Fixing Assembly to ensure a proper gear mesh.

    SERVICE WORK:

Please follow the attached procedure named “E009-0000”.pdf.

Run into this on 5030/5045 series also. When the fixing motor reverses to release the pressure between the lfr and film assembly, the plate doesnt hold the cam sufficiently and it turns and clicks. I clean off all the grease, slightly reform the plate and usually goes away. Bulletin good to know too. I've changed fixing drive assemblies on many 5030s for jamming issues. Canon has bulletin out on it
