itb was just replaced. old itb had faulty cleaning system. is there some checkpoints i could visible see to check the belt. i do still have the old belt. i could probably put that one back in it to test it.

Was the replaced ITB assy a new one? Looks like Y Transfer Roller stuck down on one side.

A common mistake with this model is making sure that ITB is snapped down properly. That section should be closed with two hands, making sure the square-shaped release button is flush with the white plastic frame. If it is depressed that means the front or rear of the belt is not latched properly which can cause a light image Front to Rear, in all colors.

Can you attach a sample of PG10 ? Best test print to use in this situation!

When you experience light images on the imageRUNNER C3380 Series, check the ITB ground surface as shown in the figure below for oxidation and clean it. This symptom can most likely occur after the ITB Assy as been opened prior to experiencing the light images.

Lock Lever (Front) on the Transfer H.V. PCB is not locked

Yes the white hook breaks on these and the itb doesn't sit against the drums properly. Usually you will get a light image on one side all colors. Ty wrap it(customer doesnt have access). I'm with canonbuddy on this one...yellow internal primary roller not coming all the way up at one end. Usually see this on advance machines...especially 7055(they have new arms and all sort of goodies to fix these). Or yellow drum/dev is pooched. BEFORE ALL THAT,pull the process unit out, open the yellow laser shutter and clean the light path. If toner has leaked in the area or somebody using the laser cleaner pushed all the loose waste thru the hole in the waste cartridge to access the laser windows(?),this will cause light image. Seen this many times.

the itb was brand new original and still in box.
i was thinking a little about what has been said. if it was the lever lock being the problem wouldnt all colours be affected simiilar?
in this case only the yellow has been affected. as far as i know the yellow was working fine prior to the itb replacement.
im thinking it might be what was said earlier about the itb maybe faulty. i will try out old and see if yellow is back to normal then i will know for sure.

CANONBUDDY i think you might be on the money with the yellow transfer roller being stuck down on one side. i will check.

Or the spring popped out. Most likely a faulty ITB.

Thankyou goes out to all those that helped. i revisited this machine to find there was infact a problem with the transfer belt. after inspecting the belt i found that the transfer roller for the yellow had come unclipped on one side. so with a firm press to reseat this roller back into its holder the problem dissappeared. customer was really happy to get his machine back up and running. he has no excuses now.
