    IRC4080 PCQ issues

I just changed all the drum units, cleared the DC-CON and entered the values from the sheet and rebooted the copier. This is the type 6 test page irc4080 type 6.PDF(irc4080 type 6.PDF), note the main scan displacement. Black and white copies and print jobs are fine, color copies and print jobs come out blurred. Please send replies to rudy.jenkins75@gmail.com. Thanks

if you have a real bad misregistration of all the colors a few milimeters on each after changing the itb belt and cleaning all of the drive rollers, you may still have to go in and manually set all of your lasers to home and then do a quick auto gradation adj. then do a full auto gradation adjust. that will fix it if ya dont have an uneven alighnment of the sensor that reads the patterns on the belt. it is easy to pull off and reseat only one screw after the cover is off. i have had this several times.

            --------------------------------------------------------------
Color mis-registration in the main scanning (front to rear)
There is the possibility under certain conditions that the laser cam/s can be in the wrong position thereby causing a color mis-registration in the main scanning direction.

BEFORE U DO A MANUAL LASER ADJUSTMENT (removing lasers) do the service mode adjustments below first/

            Service mode Level 2:

            Function/Laser: LD-ADJ-Y, LD-ADJ-M, LD-ADJ-C. Enable with OK
These operations allow the Y,M,C Lens to be reset to the middle position via the Service Mode.

            Service mode (Level2) >
            COPIER > FUNCTION > CLEAR > REG-CLR
(If this Service mode is enabled, auto-registration detection correction values are cleared.)

            Manual Adjustment for Lasers-

1.Remove the 4 laser units from the machine.

2.Remove the laser cover to expose the lens.

3.Adjust the cam gear until it is at its center position.

4.Re-assemble the laser unit and reinstall in the machine.

5.Turn on the power and once again try PG Type 6 and PG Type 10.

Good evening all. First I wish to thank you all for the assistance. And canonbundy, my apologies, I just wanted notification when someone answered my post. The problem was resolved by replacing both the ITB assembly (the belt was caked with baked on toner) and the DC-CON MAISY PCB. Both black and white and color copy and print jobs look sweet and the customer is happy. Again, thank you all.

                ------------------

I usually assume a tech always removes > inspects > cleans &/or replaces the ITB Belt in these models when they first see a sign of miss-registration.
That is why I left it off my initial reply. My oversighton reading-

                good luck--------

I hope you checked the drum life, the toner spill usually comes from overused drums.

Hey Rudy, great to see a good result, as the other guys posted - they can be a nightmare.
