I have a canon IRC5185 H1 I am trying to scan to folder the computers are win xp I have set up a shared folder on the computers when I go to the copier and go to address reg new address select SMB and brouse I can see the network then see the computers select the computer put the user name and see the folder and regester it. I have set the ip address and dsn to match the computers. but when I try to scan I get an error. The firewall is off on the computers. any suggestions?

Did you set the folder sharing to EVERYBODY with full read write permissions?
Default is read only and won't write to it.

Also make sure that "Allow network users to change my files" is tick.

I think you solved the problem will try the sharing solution in the morning will see what the resolute is. thank you
