    irc3380 w/E732-0001

I bought a package of copiers and ended up with a IRC3380 that had a E602 code. I took the hard drive out of a parts machine irc3480 and put in it. Now I'm getting a E732-0001. I've tried reseating all the sub-pcb on the main controller, I've tried a new communication cable and I've checked the connection on the reader. Am I missing something? or is it possible the hard drive isn't loaded with compatible system software??

Hi I think you may be on the right tracks reseating the pcbs on the dc con... Ive had this a couple of times causing me sc's although I cant remember if it was the same as the one you have, You may want to clean the pins of the pcb with alcohol. .I think there is a bulletin for this issue.

    Regards

If things were tampered with, you might have faulty pcb. This error is a communication error. Did you check the reader unit upon starting up the machine. Did you check to see if it has power?

Bad DC controller can cause this error as well.

You can try to see if the error is coming from the reader unit. Temporarily disconnected it by setting Copier > Option > Body > W/SCAN to 0 and disconnecting all of the reader interface cables. The machine should come up as a printer. If it comes up with an error code E732 or E733 chances are a bad DC.

E732-0001 has nothing to do with the HDD or firmware. That's why E602-xxxx exist.

Sub Code for E602 would be handy - however check my previous POST to 'adi-wazzup'.

          ============added to inspect

check the intermediate connector on the rear of the molex connector for the Reader to make sure it has not disconnected. The cable is tight and could possibly disconnect. This harness supplies the 13 and 24 Volts from J212 of the Controller Power Supply PCB for the Reader Unit. Please see the picture below.

            More Info on that E732-0001

In the field, E732-0001 was solved by replacement of Main Power Supply PCB assembly. When this symptom occurred, the initial behavior after power-on didn't start and the scanning lamp didn't light up. If the similar symptom occurs, execute the following the field remedy one by one while observing the symptom.

            Field Remedy

            - E732-0001 can be displayed when the DDI-S communication error occurs.

            1. Disconnect and then connect the connecters at the both sides of DDI-S cable (FK2-0732).
            2. Check if 24V is supplied between J301 (red) and GND on the I/F PCB assembly in the reader.
            3. Disconnect and then connect the connectors of the I/F PCB assembly and the Reader Controller PCB assembly in the reader.
            4. Remove and then reinstall SJ-A PCB assembly.
            5. Disconnect and then connect the connecter of Main Controller PCB assembly.
            6. Disconnect and then connect the connector of the Main Power Supply PCB assembly. If the symptom is not solved yet after this, replace Main Power Supply PCB assembly.
FM2-5544 MAIN POWER SUPPLY PCB ASSEMBLY (120V)
FM2-9983 MAIN POWER SUPPLY PCB ASSEMBLY (220/230V)

            Main Cause:

            E732 : Reader communication error

            E732 Reader communication error
0001 DDI-S communication error Check on connection between the reader controller PCB and the main controller PCB, Check on the reader power supply
8888 When the different scanner model is detected. Check the scanner model and the scan type at: COPIER > OPTION > BODY > SCAN TYPE, then make the scan type setting as below.
            0 for CIS model reader
            1 for CCD model reader
9999 When the scanner is initially detected on a printer model (not error). Main power OFF/ON

Ended up being the DC Controller.
