LBP5000 displaying "Out of register colors correction" error

Hallo allbody

I have a LBP 5000 color printer. The colors are completely out, especially yellow and magenta. It keeps asking for calibration when you print. And when you execute calibration, it does not complete it. Keeps displaying the above message

Try cleaning the laser unit and the registration sensors on the itm belt. Others say it might be a problem from the cartridge chip's,if they were reffiled. Try with some original cartridges and see if the calibration completes itfself. If not, if my memory serves me correct, there might be an issue with some chip on the mainboard wich stores the calibration setting. I think it's called the video chip, but i'm not sure. Maybe other coleagues will help with more specific information.

well i had the same thing with the 5050N LBP and to fix it i had to update firmware and replace all 4 cartridges along with a good clean up, but mine had a second warning about a possible lack of quality due to cartridges life expectancy exceeding

lbp 5050 is kind of different than the lbp 5000. lbp 5000 is almost identical to hp 2600.

i know they are different class and build series, but since the error comes from the cartridges, wich are very alike in the 2, you might have the same solution, just an idea

Like i said, first thing to try is calibrating the printer with some oem cartridges. Then you can judge if the error comes from the cartridges or the printer.

I have given the machine a good clean, inserted new cartridges (all four), still the same error message appears. Is there something I'm doing wrong.?????

Ok. Try one more thing. Some coleague of mine tried it and it worked. Try covering the registration sensors on the itm belt (there's 2 of them) with some ducktape or something. It should give you an error about calibration not being performed corectly, but the printer might work.. Btw, have you cleaned the laser unit?
