same generation. It saves the cost of the kit and sales usually bills em the full price for the kit. So it's an extra couple grand of profit. Also say you have a machine that has a million copies on it. With the 3380's that would basically mean the machines no good anymore. we buy used machines off lease, low counters for 5-800$. Figure a control panel and a CIS and you've made your money back already. We trash those machines and pull the licenses first so we can sell them to other clients.

Ah ok - Yes I see the benefit of that now, particularly if the machine has a high counter... I guess that's why I was perplexed to see that on this one as the counters are quite low... around 80k colour / 40k black.
