    [Misc] ir 5070 printing problems

Hello, I'm new at all this stuff and I was asked to set up a canon ir5070 since I am usually somewhat tech savvy I guess. It no longer has the service warranty on it otherwise we would just have them do it. We figured if we could set it up ourselves we could save us some money. We got it over here and the copier runs fine but I can't print to it from the computer. I have the IP and subnet configured correctly, the driver installed but it still wont print. I think the problem might be that we aren't going about it by setting a server up through a router it is just plugged in directly from the copier to the computer using an Ethernet cable. Any advice or sagely wisdom on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

You need a crossover cable if your trying to print from your workstation to the copier.

Do you have any connectivity to the internet.
Do you have ISP provider? Verizon, etc.

You can connect this copier to a ISP router if you router has ports for Ethernet cables.

    Also keep in mind..

Was this copier on any kind of network before. Do you know if it has a printer kit installed?
