      Clean your optics for starters.

Perform CCD with the brightest paper you have.

It comes any percentage of zoom, mostly customer makes zoom to make copies of id cards.we already adjust ccd with white paper on glass.

on the primary HVT there is a small switch, try to flip it and background gone ??

Did u try to Decrease the value in the following ?
          in service mode:
          COPIER>ADJUST>AE>AE-TBL

u could do a normal scan of the card/cards into a PC then > print from PC to 105 at a zoomed %

id there a security Hologram on the id card

place a OHP transparency sheet on the glass> then place the ID card on top of it> now run a zoom copy

            How about this.

When photo copying ID's use PHOTO instead of TEXT when making copies.

The DPI resolution is less when you use PHOTO.

what happens when u enlarge normal text documents to same ratio used on id cards ????

do these OD Cards have a Matt Finish or a Smooth Finish

what is ZOOM RATIO U USE ?????

is it a solid background or when enlarged do u see fine lines

                -keep AE off

-set PRE-TR to 165 and reboot
                -try replacing the Lamp

-Check the Drum to make sure the drum heater is on and is warm. With a piece of paper in the palm of your hand, reach up and feel the drum with the paper acting as a heat shield. If ON the drum should feel warm.
If not try setting SW3 at rear-lower-right to full-wave ( right dot pushed in). Re-check drum warmth again in a few minutes.

Check the wiring harness in the front of the AP kit for continuity. A poor connection through the harness may cause the Pre-Exposure lamps to turn on intermittently.

Clean the scanning lamp, reflecting plate, side reflecting plate, mirrors,
                lenses, and dust-proofing glass-
                THEN----
Execute the following in service mode:
                1. COPIER>FUNCTION>CCD>CCD-ADJ
                2 COPIER>FUNCTION>CCD>LUT-ADJ

Try to Increase the value in the following
service mode: COPIER>ADJUST>CCDSH-TRGT (max. at 160)
