    ir 3570 service mode

Did a service call on a ir 3570 for paper jam at power up. I tried to access the service mode using the procedure listed in the tech manual, but the machine would not respond by entering the service mode.

Has anyone else encountered this problem? I don't work on many Canons, so maybe I'm just doing it wrong. According to the tech manual it's a pretty straight forward process. Just 3 easy op panel button sequences.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    add functions > 2+8 > add functions. Alternative is 4+9 if lvl 2 > COPIER>OPTION>BODY>SVMD-ENT is set to 1.

reboot the machine and hold down 2+8 and see if you get download mode, if you do reboot, if not you got a sticky key in the control panel.

        ---------------

make sure all those panel keys have a nice up/down release

just one stuck key can prevent panel operations

I was able to access the service mode and get the jam code for the sensor causing the jam at power on condition. Oddly enough the service manual says to push the asterisk key instead of the add function key.

So using your button sequence worked and the tech manual sequence did not.

Looks like I'll be needing a duplex assembly feed sensor. Jam code OAOC

            Thanks for the help.

Service Manual is lost in translation lol.

Try replacing the photo interupter PS3A in the 3 way unit part # FH7-7312-000 page 5-2 in the service manual. to clear the 0a0c code

Thanks for the part#. That was really cool. You saved me lots of google searching and risky parts manual download attempts.
